The Problem
The current physical appointment system requires patients to wait in long queues, leading to inefficiencies, inconvenience, and potential delays in receiving necessary dental care. This process can be frustrating and time-consuming for both patients and staff.
The Goal
The goal of this project is to create a user-friendly online system that makes scheduling dental appointments simple and hassle-free. We want to ensure that everyone, regardless of their tech skills, can easily book a visit to our clinic for their dental needs.
The Design Thinking
In my design process, I started by understanding the challenges users face with conventional dental appointment booking. Then, I identified the main issues and brainstormed ideas for a user-friendly solution. Afterward, I developed prototypes to visualize the concept and conducted tests to improve the Dentyl app, guaranteeing a smooth and pleasant experience for everyone. Empathise
In the empathize phase, I simulated user interviews to grasp their challenges with conventional dental appointment booking. This led to creating empathy maps, illustrating their needs and pain points. From there, I formed user personas embodying our target audience. With this insight, I crafted user stories to address their concerns. Finally, user journey maps were designed to ensure Dentyl offers a smooth experience for scheduling dental appointments
User Research
I conducted Secondary research and crafted user empathy maps, the research showed that users desired for a simple and efficient appointment booking process. However, traditional appointment scheduling process can be time consuming and frustrating, potentially causing delays in receiving dental care. This highlights the importance of an accessible, user-friendly digital platform like Dentyl, aiming for a smoother and stress-free experience for both patients and staff.

Define
In the Define stage, I analyzed user insights to identify the most critical needs and issues. This resulted in the creation of a concise problem statement, specifying the problems. Following this, a hypothesis statement was developed to steer the design process, proposing a solution to the identified problems. The goal statement encapsulated the overarching objective: to establish an efficient and user-friendly dental appointment system that tackles the key pain points uncovered during user research.

Simultaneously, I conducted a comprehensive competitor analysis, extracting valuable insights to refine Dentyl's features and ensure it stands out in the dental appointment landscape.
